Well since we last gathered around the potpourri, the sporting landscape has changed a bit. Let's take a look at where things stand in MLB, Cycling, NBA, NFL etc...

The Potpourri: Where we know Lebron has been dunked on before

So I have been away a bit longer than I planned, mostly due to Microsoft Vista and its hatred of all things effective. However going forward I am going to share my take on the sports world about once a week, unless something major goes down, in which case I'll be there for you.

As I write today, I am watching the world say goodbye to the single greatest entertainer ever. Michael Jackson embodied rags to riches, the power of faith, the strength of love and the depth of talent. His contributions to the world go far beyond songs and album sales, Michael Jackson is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the pop star who has supported the most charitable organizations, EVER.

Let's take a stroll around the mid week sporting landscape shall we?


NASCAR
The big story on the NASCAR front this morning is Jeremy Mayfield's positive test for Methamphetamine being confirmed. That's right, they are saying this guy was using METH in his spare time. METH! How do you feel going 170 mph with that guy bumping you?
But that isn't the best part of this story. The kicker is Mayfield's lawyer Bill Diehl taking the Roger Clemens approach to denying the accusation. Diehl stated:
